I was told

i speak quite good Italian.
I mean good for being here just for three months more than a year ago and not studying or using it in the meantime. The trick is quite simple. You just have to stop thinking in your language...Most of the day i think in Italian, helping myself with English. That's all. It works. You just have to hope it won't make you go nuts, that you won't lose yourself in the words...and that you won't lose the point.
Vediamo about that

  1. Oh, but another important thing is the FOOD and WINE! How could i have forgotten to write that. That just drags you in. Speaking languages is a bit like cooking, anyway.

  2. I like the way you think! =)
And you're so right.. I've been trying the same to bring my German back to life (i'm going to give some lessons) and it works very well that way - trying to think in the language.. (I guess i should have beer and wurst to go with it? Not that tempting :D)

  4. Flattered and blushing :)
As for the German, you might wanna try Spätzle, Sauerkraut or Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte instead of the sausage ;) and perhaps with Gewürztraminer or Zweigeltrebe, although i'm sure the second one is Austrian of origin, but still a German-speaking country..
