Maybe i'm looking for things that aren't really there...but lately i'm just all into connections of all kinds. And guess what. I was about to watch the Scarface movie with Al Pacino...and i looked at the cover. Well, don't tell me that the poster of the Confessions of a Dangerous Mind does not look similar...

ReplyDeletebut listen, today i went with Míša H. to the World Press Photo exhibition & i was recommending him some movies, talking especially about Apocalypse Now. and guess what - right afterwards i went to the first lecture on "world history in belles letters and film" and the first topic/movie screened was Apocalypse Now :D... (the books connected with it being of course Heart of Darkness, & also Příběh inženýra lidských duší by Škvorecký)
hmm, gotta Czech that out!
ReplyDeleteby the way, from the movies I saw recently i could feel connection between Crazy Heart & The Wrestler and also between Ondine & Angel-A
but it was more of similar parts of a story or motive... i enjoyed them all
what do you want to czech out, the movie or the books? if the movie... you simply NEED to see it, in case you haven't yet!! Heart of Darkness i can also warmly recommend..

i confess...i have neither read these books, nor the movie. for the books...well, maybe after x-mas, since now i have one Umberto Eco started and another book arriving hopefully in November. But for Apocalypse Now i shall do my best!
